Discussion questions to help you unpack the message with others.
  1. What’s a club you currently belong to or would be interested in joining, and why?

  2. What stood out to you most from the message?

  3. Do you tend to feel more like an insider or an outsider in life? What makes you feel that way?

  4. When was the last time you tried to earn favor in life, or with God?

  5. Have you ever had a moment where you felt like you “finally made it” but discovered the door was still shut? What was that like?

  6. Read John 10:7-10.

    Where in your life do you see the thief coming to steal, kill, and destroy?

  7. Identify an inner ring you tend to chase. (Example: wealth, status, beauty, comfort, etc). How can you give this to God and ask him to fulfill all of your needs instead?

  8. What’s a next step you could take to access more life that Jesus has for you through humility instead of achievement? (If you’re unsure, see what you can come up with as a group.)

  9. Let’s end our time praying together. You can say something like;

    “God, thank you for always finding us where we are. Help us to empty our hands and humble ourselves so we can step through Your door. You’re our provider of all our needs. In the identity and character of your name we pray, amen.”

New around here? We'd love to connect

Maybe you've heard of the "loneliness epidemic". They say loneliness affects your body the same as smoking cigarettes.

It turns out, it isn't just a new thing. You were actually hardwired for belonging. This week, Kyle Ranson shows us how we are all outsiders—and Jesus is the door that can bring us in to real community. Recorded live at Crossroads Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.
