How to Bear Fruit: Staying Connected to the True Vine
What’s something that brought you joy this past week, and why?
What stood out to you most from the message?
What is something that can make it difficult to bring your full self to Jesus? Why is it hard to stay and abide in him?
Where do you want to experience more of God’s goodness? What might need to be pruned or strengthened in the process?
Whether pruning feels harsh or gentle, it can be difficult to go through. Describe a time you experienced something being removed or trimmed back and what that meant to you.
What makes it difficult to trust that God is going to provide? How has He provided in the past?
Read John 15:1-5.
What do you think abiding in Jesus looks like for you right now? How can it produce fruit?
What’s one thing you can do this week to abide in Jesus and bear fruit?
Let’s end our time praying together. You can say something like;
“Jesus, thank you for wanting for us to have fruitful lives, full of purpose and connection with you. Life is hard, with a lot of distractions. Help us discern where you’re guiding us. Help us to trust you. In the identity and character of your name we pray, amen.”
We all want fruit. Not just that stuff that gets baked into a muffin, the good stuff: love, joy, peace, patience, and all that. But every gardener knows if you really want your vines to give you the best stuff, it's gotta be pruned first.
This week, our Campus Pastors walk us through an immersive experience that show you how you can remain connected to the True Vine, and how that will get us to that real fruit that you're wanting.
Recorded live at Crossroads Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.
