You are a Creator
Real Encounters with God: Downline
Discussion questions to help you unpack the message with others.
- If you could choose to create ANY fictional object, what would it be and why? Mine would be a lightsaber. Obviously.
- What stood out to you most from the video message?
- What’s your reaction to the idea that you can be a creator?
- Where do you see yourself creating? Where do you feel your creativity being stifled?
- What challenges or obstacles do you face in embracing your identity as a creator?
- What’s something unique to you or your life experience that makes it difficult to believe you are a creator?
- How does your creativity restore you? How does it restore the people around you?
- All of us have creative potential. What’s one creative project or idea you can start on this week?
Prayer
Let’s end with prayer. You can say something like, “God, thank you for creating us, for creating us in your image. Help us capture a piece of your creative spirit in our own lives. Help us see you in the beautiful world around us, and bless others with what we see. Amen.”
Bonus Questions
Check these out if you’re on a roll and want to go a little deeper.
- What inspires your creativity? How do you engage (or perhaps avoid engaging) with your inspirations?
- How would your life look different if you decided to live into your identity as a creator?
New around here? We'd love to connect
Creativity is in our DNA. We're designed to take something and make it better, more functional, more beautiful. YOU were made to create. (And yes, even if all you can draw is a stick figure.)
