You are a Son or Daughter
Could you see yourself thriving as a shepherd on a hillside? Describe for the group how you’d try to keep your sheep in line.
What stood out to you most from the video message?
How would you describe what currently makes up your spiritual DNA? What makes you you?
Where do you feel judged, unwanted, unloved, or that you don’t belong? Where in your life do you feel like an orphan?
When you find yourself feeling like the least or the lowest, how do you typically respond?
Read 1 Samuel 16:7. What’s your first thought when you hear that you are valued by God, that He sees you differently than everybody else?
What’s something unique to you or your life experience that makes it difficult to believe you are a treasured child of God?
Do you believe God has a plan and purpose for your life? If so, what do you think that purpose is? If not, why not?
If you did decide to live as a son or a daughter of God, how do you think your life would change?
Let’s end with prayer. You can say something like, “God, thank you for sacrificing your own Son to save us. Thank you for adopting us into your family. Give us the faith to believe it’s true. Help us live as your beloved children. Amen.”
