Our culture is chock full of two lies. One says “You should be better” and the other says, “You’re fine just the way you are. It’s how you were made—no need to change.”
The reality is that deep down, we know both sides are wrong.
All of us know that we were made for more than the brokenness we hide away from others; put simply, we know we should change. But at the same time, we’re not sure where to start, because the standards the world offers us are crushing and unattainable. We are part sinner, part saint, and stuck unable to make lasting progress. Yet in the midst of this, God offers a third way. He wants to sanctify us—to truly change us to look like himself, in a sustainable, holistic way. He wants to restore and bring life to us through change, rather than crush us into oblivion.
