Bolivia
June / Compassion

6/19/2020 - 6/28/2020

Sloth...maybe. If you’re looking for an adventure join us in Bolivia. You may hike amazing sand dunes, jump into jungle waterfall pools, and maybe even see a sloth! During the week you’ll get to spend several fun-filled days at Compassion centers: playing with kids, doing arts and crafts, and sharing simple Bible lessons. There may be some basic improvement projects such as painting, setting up new classrooms, etc. There’s no shortage of laughs, smiles, and hugs; the kids, pastors, and tutors LOVE having visitors! And to top it off, you’ll be able to visit your Compassion sponsor child if you have one.

How much does it cost?

$2,400.
That may sound like a lot, but you should know this covers everything (flight, hotel, meals, activities, etc.), and this is a number you’re meant to tackle with your friends and family.
Of all of our trip participants, only 5% have had to contribute to their own trip.

What is the travel like?

You will fly on commercial airlines, most likely a mixture of American, United, and possibly the Panamanian airline Copa. It takes a full day to get there with several plane changes, sometimes overnight. Once we are in Bolivia, we get around in private hired buses (sometimes with AC, sometimes not), and you get to experience traffic and driving WAY more haphazard than L.A. or New York!

Day 1

Depart US

Day 2

Arrive in Santa Cruz, rest, and tourism fun

Day 3

Church service at a Compassion church

Day 4-8

Serve at Compassion Child Development Centers, plus a special day with your sponsored child

Day 9

Travel home

You will stay in modern hotel with great amenities: comfortable air-conditioned rooms, breakfast each day, wi-fi, and nice worship/meeting rooms. You need to be well-rested and ready to go each day, so the accommodations on this trip are really good.

Testimonial:

“Going to Bolivia forced me out of my comfort zone and placed me into a situation where I was not in control, as I so constantly desire. While there I realized how cynical I tend to be instead of recognizing God as the Good Shepherd who I've always been taught that He is. I was able to see firsthand the deep faith of our Christian brothers and sisters in Bolivia; as well as, the immense impact that my monthly sponsorship has on my Compassion child and his entire family.” - Danny C.

Their work releases children from spiritual, economic, social, and physical poverty. The goal is for each child to become a responsible and fulfilled adult.
