Build Your Life on Truth | Rock Solid Week 1

Wikipedia, Tik Tok, your aunt’s Facebook post— we’re surrounded by people that claim to know what’s right. In a world of 24/7 information download how do we know what is actually true? Join us today as Paco gives us some principles for how to recognize and build on truth.

  • 00:00:03
    - Have you ever built something and recognized that what
  • 00:00:05
you built isn't what you wanted or it's not working?
  • 00:00:08
It's so deflating because what you got to do is
  • 00:00:11
you got to tear it down and start from scratch.
  • 00:00:14
I've worked in construction for a bunch of years.
  • 00:00:16
I've built stuff on my house.
  • 00:00:18
I built stuff on my motorcycle, on my truck.
  • 00:00:21
Most recently I put a rack on the back of my
  • 00:00:23
truck and I realized I did something wrong.
  • 00:00:25
    I had to undo it.
  • 00:00:27
This is the thing: Sometimes when you're building
  • 00:00:30
something, you have to take it down to get it right.
  • 00:00:34
This is a reality that's happening in people's faith.
  • 00:00:38
We're seeing people who have built faith and the faith isn't
  • 00:00:42
working, and what's happened is called deconstructionism.
  • 00:00:45
    They're deconstructing their faith.
  • 00:00:48
There's a good thing about this is that you're trying
  • 00:00:50
to deal with your faith and get the faulty things out.
  • 00:00:53
The bad thing is it's really in vogue right now to just
  • 00:00:56
deconstruct your faith instead of actually building your faith.
  • 00:01:00
I don't want you to tear down your faith.
  • 00:01:02
I don't want you to tear down your life.
  • 00:01:04
I want you to build your life the right way that God,
  • 00:01:07
the way God wants it in the way that actually works.
  • 00:01:10
That's what we're going to be dealing
  • 00:01:13
with in this series called Rock Solid.
  • 00:01:20
To build something rock solid, it's got to be inside of code.
  • 00:01:23
When code is really working well, it's
  • 00:01:26
not a system to frustrate contractors.
  • 00:01:28
It's a system that reflects the truth of reality.
  • 00:01:32
It reflects load bearing and how thick things need to be.
  • 00:01:36
It's a matter of science and math and physics all in one.
  • 00:01:42
That's the truth you need when you build something.
  • 00:01:45
Our culture is fixated on living your own truth.
  • 00:01:49
I'm fine to live the truth, but
  • 00:01:51
first we have to find the truth,
  • 00:01:53
the truth that is foundational and structural
  • 00:01:56
for building a great life and a great faith.
  • 00:02:02
    - What's the most important part of any house?
  • 00:02:04
The doors, windows, maybe the drapes or the landscaping?
  • 00:02:08
    How about the roof?
  • 00:02:10
Nope, none of this stuff will make your house stand.
  • 00:02:13
    We definitely need them.
  • 00:02:14
But when life hits, we need more.
  • 00:02:17
So what is the most important part of any house?
  • 00:02:20
Spoiler alert, this is not about the house.
  • 00:02:24
    We are all building something.
  • 00:02:26
The question is not what we are
  • 00:02:28
building, but what we're building on.
  • 00:02:31
Lots of our foundations are weak.
  • 00:02:33
If you're feeling tossed around, pressured from every side,
  • 00:02:36
and weathered out by the world around you,
  • 00:02:38
    there's good news for us.
  • 00:02:40
Jesus says we can have a faith that stands up to the
  • 00:02:43
turmoil, tensions, and even the terrifying stuff of life.
  • 00:02:46
And Jesus doesn't just tell us what to do,
  • 00:02:49
He actually shows us the way to have a rock solid faith
  • 00:02:52
that can hold together under the weight of life.
  • 00:02:55
Everyone is building their life on something.
  • 00:02:57
We want you to build your life on a rock solid foundation.
  • 00:03:01
In a world where everything feels like
  • 00:03:03
it's constantly shaking, we can have a faith
  • 00:03:06
    that stands firm under pressures
  • 00:03:08
and holds us together in the chaos of life.
  • 00:03:10
We can have a faith that is built to last.
  • 00:03:17
    - In 1949, Henry Rowengartner had a closed
  • 00:03:20
door meetings with Robert Fitzgerald Diggs.
  • 00:03:24
They met behind closed doors to discuss a Booster
  • 00:03:27
Tracy method that they used to to trace citizens.
  • 00:03:32
What did they know? What were they planning?
  • 00:03:36
Did you also know (record scratches) none of that's true?
  • 00:03:39
    Henry Rowengartner, that's the lead
  • 00:03:41
character from Rookie of the Year.
  • 00:03:44
Robert Fitzgerald Diggs, that's RZA from the Wu-Tang Clan.
  • 00:03:48
But why did so many of us want that to be true?
  • 00:03:51
And why did the other half was want me to think it
  • 00:03:54
was true so that you could show me how wrong I am?
  • 00:03:58
    Well, because the truth matters.
  • 00:04:02
I think we all want truth.
  • 00:04:05
The issue is we don't really know what it looks like.
  • 00:04:07
We don't know where to find it.
  • 00:04:10
And I see a tragedy happening to people today.
  • 00:04:13
I see good people breaking down, walking away from their faith,
  • 00:04:16
their families, their entire lives crumbling
  • 00:04:19
because what they held onto as truth,
  • 00:04:22
it got destroyed when pressure was put on it.
  • 00:04:26
How do you know this won't happen to you?
  • 00:04:28
Well, I've got good news: You can experience truth.
  • 00:04:31
And you can have truth and build your life on it.
  • 00:04:34
But first, we've got to deal with some
  • 00:04:37
ginormous barriers that are standing in the way.
  • 00:04:40
In an era of conspiracy theories, alternative facts,
  • 00:04:44
truth claim power moves and re-truthing,
  • 00:04:47
you can have a foundation of truth.
  • 00:04:50
    Truth is important.
  • 00:04:51
It determines what lasts and what crumbles.
  • 00:04:54
This is why I don't buy into the there is no truth argument.
  • 00:04:57
    Here's why.
  • 00:04:58
If truth doesn't exist, then it should have no opposite.
  • 00:05:03
So let me ask you a question: Is there such thing as lying?
  • 00:05:07
Well, yes is your answer, then truth has to exist.
  • 00:05:11
And no one likes being lied to.
  • 00:05:13
If lying exists, then truth must exist, but
  • 00:05:16
there are some big things standing in the way.
  • 00:05:18
The first real big thing that stands in the way of
  • 00:05:21
us experiencing real truth is our need to be right.
  • 00:05:25
This is where we hold our facts and hold our beliefs
  • 00:05:27
and hold our bullet points so tight
  • 00:05:29
that we're just trying to win an argument at all costs.
  • 00:05:32
And for these folks, the truth really becomes a list of
  • 00:05:36
do's and don'ts absent from any kind of human experience.
  • 00:05:40
    Let me just say uncontextualized
  • 00:05:42
rules have no real value in life.
  • 00:05:45
But when we hold them so tight,
  • 00:05:46
when we hold these rules so tight,
  • 00:05:48
the search for truth just becomes another talking point
  • 00:05:50
in our grenade that we throw across the bow in culture wars
  • 00:05:54
and never really listen to any other sort of information.
  • 00:05:59
Just spewing facts back and forth.
  • 00:06:01
And I was struggling to find the perfect example of this,
  • 00:06:04
and then I saw some of the comments
  • 00:06:07
on a few of our YouTube videos, and bruh.
  • 00:06:12
Don't go check it out yet.
  • 00:06:13
Wait, wait, wait, wait till I'm done
  • 00:06:15
then and then explore however you want.
  • 00:06:17
Here's a question to ask yourself if you find
  • 00:06:19
you are holding on to the need to be right.
  • 00:06:22
If the hold on to need to be right is standing in the way
  • 00:06:24
of you experiencing real truth, ask yourself this question:
  • 00:06:27
When was the last time you were wrong?
  • 00:06:31
See, I'm always right in my own mind and with my own tribe.
  • 00:06:34
And if you're never wrong, you probably have limited context.
  • 00:06:38
Because we can win all the Twitter beefs,
  • 00:06:40
have all the right facts, all the right bullet points,
  • 00:06:43
    and never really experience truth.
  • 00:06:48
Now, the second big thing that gets in the way of
  • 00:06:51
us experiencing truth is our fear of being wrong.
  • 00:06:55
See, if one group is holding on the truth so tight,
  • 00:06:57
holding on to their values, holding on to their rules
  • 00:07:00
and their do's and don'ts, their bullet points,
  • 00:07:02
this group is scared to hold on to anything.
  • 00:07:06
One group never wants to contextualize.
  • 00:07:08
This group was like, "I will continue to contextualize
  • 00:07:11
if it means I don't have to actually believe anything."
  • 00:07:14
What happens is we continue to
  • 00:07:16
    rationalize, continue to contextualize.
  • 00:07:18
I call these the what if, what about people.
  • 00:07:21
And I understand why this is so popular right now
  • 00:07:24
in our culture, because committing is not easy.
  • 00:07:28
Fitting into popular norms, that's a little easier.
  • 00:07:32
Quick, easy solutions, rather than really digging
  • 00:07:34
for truth and experiencing it is a lot easier.
  • 00:07:37
Here's a question to ask yourself to help you determine
  • 00:07:39
if the fear of being wrong
  • 00:07:41
might be standing in your way of experiencing truth.
  • 00:07:44
When was the last time you stood up for something,
  • 00:07:47
even though it wasn't the popular opinion?
  • 00:07:49
Like when was the last time you
  • 00:07:50
    went against the cultural grain?
  • 00:07:53
Because if we're going to have a life built to last,
  • 00:07:56
we've got to be okay with going against the grain.
  • 00:07:59
    Remember that one person who
  • 00:08:00
always went with the cultural norm?
  • 00:08:02
Remember how fantastic their life was?
  • 00:08:04
Remember how sturdy they were under pressure?
  • 00:08:06
    How much courage they had?
  • 00:08:09
    Me, neither.
  • 00:08:10
If you want a rock solid life, you need truth you can stand on.
  • 00:08:16
And Jesus makes a bold claim about truth.
  • 00:08:19
He says, "You will know the truth
  • 00:08:21
and the truth will set you free."
  • 00:08:24
Spoiler alert: truth starts with Jesus.
  • 00:08:31
    - We'll get back to Paco in just a second.
  • 00:08:33
But first I wanted to say thank you to all of
  • 00:08:35
our givers who make videos like this possible.
  • 00:08:37
You're funding and fueling literal life change.
  • 00:08:42
I don't know if you get to see that, but I do.
  • 00:08:44
And on behalf of everybody whose lives
  • 00:08:46
you are changing, I want to say thank you.
  • 00:08:48
By the way, if you want to join the
  • 00:08:49
community of generosity, it's super easy.
  • 00:08:51
    You just go to Crossroads.net/give.
  • 00:08:53
When you get there, you'll see something called our Tithe Test.
  • 00:08:56
    It's pretty simple.
  • 00:08:57
It's a way to take the stress out
  • 00:08:58
of giving for the very first time.
  • 00:09:00
It works like this: You try tithing, giving for 90 days.
  • 00:09:03
And if at the end of those 90 days, you don't experience
  • 00:09:05
more of God in your life,
  • 00:09:06
we'll literally give you all of your money back.
  • 00:09:09
    Again, just go to Crossroads.net/give.
  • 00:09:12
    Let's get back to Paco.
  • 00:09:15
    - So how do you know it's truth?
  • 00:09:16
    Well, truth is verified,
  • 00:09:18
verified not just by the tastemakers and the creators,
  • 00:09:22
but verified outside of those opinions.
  • 00:09:24
Picture it like this: You're on a date in a
  • 00:09:27
different city with your significant other.
  • 00:09:30
And it's time to eat so you want to go on a really fancy date.
  • 00:09:33
And your spouse goes, "Listen, if you take me to
  • 00:09:36
Applebee's one more time, this will be our last date."
  • 00:09:39
So you do what any sane person would do, you jump on
  • 00:09:42
Yelp and you see a spot that says Joe's Falafel Shop.
  • 00:09:46
And you think to yourself, "Thank goodness, because
  • 00:09:49
I would never be able to spell falafel properly."
  • 00:09:51
And Joe's Falafel Shop has five star rating.
  • 00:09:55
So you click through and you see that there's only one review.
  • 00:10:00
And the review is by a guy named Joe Falafel.
  • 00:10:04
That probably wouldn't be a very valid review.
  • 00:10:06
And in the same way, if your truth has not been verified
  • 00:10:09
by something outside of your own knowledge
  • 00:10:13
and expertise, you should doubt it to be true.
  • 00:10:17
Truth needs to be validated by many for it to be valid.
  • 00:10:22
And when you think about how this applies to Jesus,
  • 00:10:25
the existence of Jesus, His claims and all of His life
  • 00:10:30
    has been validated historically, scripturally,
  • 00:10:33
    and experienced by thousands.
  • 00:10:37
    Secondly, truth encourages questions.
  • 00:10:41
Now I used to get real upset when anyone would
  • 00:10:44
ask questions about what I knew to be true.
  • 00:10:48
If I thought it was true, why would you even question it?
  • 00:10:51
    Well, I realized quickly that
  • 00:10:53
had nothing to do with the truth.
  • 00:10:54
That had everything to do with my own insecurities.
  • 00:10:58
See, truth is not threatened by questions.
  • 00:11:01
And if you're in a spot where the authority, the
  • 00:11:04
truth in your life doesn't invite questions, run.
  • 00:11:08
    I don't care if it's a church, a friend group, or
  • 00:11:11
anything else, that is not a healthy environment.
  • 00:11:13
Truth is not intimidated by questions.
  • 00:11:18
And we see this play out in the
  • 00:11:19
life of Jesus over and over again.
  • 00:11:21
In the book of John specifically from the
  • 00:11:23
Bible, Jesus is is on His way to the cross.
  • 00:11:26
He's on His way to be tried in a court that
  • 00:11:30
was crooked and be strung up on a cross to die.
  • 00:11:33
And before He does that, there's this interaction He
  • 00:11:36
has with His closest followers called The Last Supper.
  • 00:11:38
And during the Last Supper, Jesus does this ceremonial
  • 00:11:42
foot washing to serve the people around Him.
  • 00:11:44
And then He goes on and he says some really beautiful,
  • 00:11:47
powerful words that He almost -- He's calling His shot.
  • 00:11:49
He's saying, "This is about to happen.
  • 00:11:51
All of the stuff I've been saying
  • 00:11:53
to you is about to go down."
  • 00:11:54
And in the very middle of that, Thomas, one of his earliest
  • 00:11:58
followers, raises his hand and goes, "I got a question."
  • 00:12:03
And in the middle of all of that,
  • 00:12:05
Jesus stops to address the question.
  • 00:12:07
Here's how it reads in John 14.
  • 00:12:22
Now I want us to notice two things here.
  • 00:12:24
First, Jesus doesn't scold Thomas for
  • 00:12:26
raising his hand and asking the question.
  • 00:12:29
    Jesus isn't like, "Thomas,
  • 00:12:30
right now in the middle of my incredible talk,
  • 00:12:33
in front of my friends, you're going to stand up, what?"
  • 00:12:35
No, no, no, Jesus stops and answers Thomas's question.
  • 00:12:41
And secondly, Jesus doesn't just claim to
  • 00:12:45
know the truth, He claims He is the truth.
  • 00:12:50
Jesus made these claims, and then He goes
  • 00:12:53
to the cross and He fulfills these claims.
  • 00:12:57
When he dies, He's buried, and three days
  • 00:12:59
later, He comes walking out of the grave.
  • 00:13:02
    It's called resurrection.
  • 00:13:04
Which leads me to my next point.
  • 00:13:05
Truth cashes in on the claims.
  • 00:13:09
    Truth claims can be evaluated
  • 00:13:11
depending on the outcome of the claim.
  • 00:13:13
Jesus claimed to be the truth,
  • 00:13:15
and He wasn't the only person making these claims in His day.
  • 00:13:19
There were other people who claimED to be the truth,
  • 00:13:22
who claim to be all the things that Jesus claimed to be.
  • 00:13:25
And one thing they all have in common is they all die.
  • 00:13:29
The one thing that sets us apart from all of those
  • 00:13:33
is Jesus rose from the grave.
  • 00:13:35
And His movement is the only movement
  • 00:13:38
that continues to expand to this day,
  • 00:13:41
continues to show people truth to this day,
  • 00:13:45
    thousands of years later.
  • 00:13:47
    And if that isn't true,
  • 00:13:49
then none of this, none of this matters.
  • 00:13:52
If Jesus doesn't get up out of the grave, none
  • 00:13:54
of this even matters, all of this is in vain.
  • 00:14:00
Lastly, and most importantly, truth runs toward doubt.
  • 00:14:05
You see, when Jesus comes out of the grave
  • 00:14:08
and He starts to show Himself to his earliest followers
  • 00:14:12
and says, "See, it's true, all the things I said, it's true.
  • 00:14:16
I am the truth. I am the way. I am the life.
  • 00:14:19
    I did defeat death."
  • 00:14:22
But what happens is some people still had some doubt.
  • 00:14:25
You know what it's like to have doubt.
  • 00:14:27
And in John Chapter 20, we see this interaction with Jesus
  • 00:14:32
and Thomas again, where Thomas' doubts get addressed.
  • 00:14:37
    John, Chapter 20:26:
  • 00:15:03
Now, why is this a thing?
  • 00:15:05
Why is this important in the search for truth?
  • 00:15:07
Well, because just eight days prior
  • 00:15:10
to this, Thomas was doubting heavy.
  • 00:15:13
This Jesus that he loved so much that
  • 00:15:15
he built his whole life around had died.
  • 00:15:19
And all of the doubts that would come with that
  • 00:15:22
were the thing you built your life on is not there anymore,
  • 00:15:24
all of that started to whirlwind in Thomas's mind
  • 00:15:26
    and in his life.
  • 00:15:27
And maybe you're in a spot where it feels like your
  • 00:15:30
life is a whirlwind and maybe you're doubting heavy.
  • 00:15:33
Well, Jesus does for Thomas what
  • 00:15:35
He wants to do for you as well.
  • 00:15:38
    You see, Jesus tells Thomas,
  • 00:15:39
"Thomas, in your doubt, come here.
  • 00:15:41
Let me show you. Let me show you what happened.
  • 00:15:43
    I'm really Jesus.
  • 00:15:45
This is where the nail went in as
  • 00:15:46
they strung me up on the cross."
  • 00:15:48
He says, "Thomas, let me show you the piercing in my side
  • 00:15:52
from the spear that they hit me with when I was on that cross.
  • 00:15:56
You see, Thomas, this is true.
  • 00:15:59
What you believe is true and your doubt is welcome here."
  • 00:16:03
And Jesus meets Thomas right in the middle of his doubt.
  • 00:16:10
You see, truth is more than just abstract
  • 00:16:12
    rules, more than just experiences,.
  • 00:16:14
Truth is Jesus, and if we go to Him, He will give us
  • 00:16:18
Himself, which is the way, the truth, and the life.
  • 00:16:23
    This process is not easy.
  • 00:16:25
It's not easy to build a faith that lasts.
  • 00:16:27
It's not easy to build a rock solid foundation of truth.
  • 00:16:29
But let me tell you, it is so worth it.
  • 00:16:33
It's easier for me to hold tight to my talking
  • 00:16:36
points and Bible verses and witty comebacks.
  • 00:16:39
It's so easy for me to be like, "Nope,
  • 00:16:41
I'm not going anywhere near any of this."
  • 00:16:45
But when I put all of those things away
  • 00:16:48
and I meet Jesus, everything changes.
  • 00:16:53
When I asked Jesus to meet me where I am in my doubt,
  • 00:16:56
with my disbelief, with my questions,
  • 00:16:58
with all the things I need verified,
  • 00:16:59
    Jesus always meets me there.
  • 00:17:03
Those are the exact places where He walks
  • 00:17:05
alongside us and He's gentle with us.
  • 00:17:08
And I've seen this play out in my own life over and over again.
  • 00:17:13
You see, if you were to take a snapshot of me as a
  • 00:17:17
kid and show who I was, it would look way different.
  • 00:17:21
And if I were to take a snapshot of my life now and
  • 00:17:25
show myself as a kid, I'd be like there's no way.
  • 00:17:28
There's no way, because you know why?
  • 00:17:30
Because I thought my life would
  • 00:17:31
    crumble and continue to crumble.
  • 00:17:33
And I often think the things that I love about my life,
  • 00:17:35
my marriage, my family, my calling, my faith,
  • 00:17:39
I often think that at some point they're going to crumble, too.
  • 00:17:44
And I can easily think that that's true,
  • 00:17:48
and I could easily think that Jesus is upset with me
  • 00:17:50
and doesn't want to be near me because of my doubt.
  • 00:17:52
And then I end up in a cycle, in a whirlwind, and then
  • 00:17:55
things just start to crumble and crash all around me.
  • 00:17:59
The only way I can have hope for the truth
  • 00:18:02
is trusting that Jesus is who He says He is.
  • 00:18:05
That He is the way, is the truth, and He is the life.
  • 00:18:08
And if I start there, the rest of my life
  • 00:18:11
starts to build out from that foundation.
  • 00:18:14
And when the chaos of life hits and the turmoil of life hits
  • 00:18:18
and frustrations happen, I can stand firm knowing that
  • 00:18:22
anything else can crash around me,
  • 00:18:24
    but my relationship with Jesus,
  • 00:18:26
my relationship with the truth can stand firm.
  • 00:18:31
And all I have to do is trust in Him.
  • 00:18:34
So what this mean for you?
  • 00:18:36
Well, you will always find what you're looking for.
  • 00:18:39
If you're looking for a set of rules, you'll find it.
  • 00:18:42
If you're looking for a reason to
  • 00:18:44
bend the rules, you'll find it.
  • 00:18:45
But if you're looking for truth, it can be found in Jesus.
  • 00:18:50
And Jesus wants a relationship with you.
  • 00:18:52
He wants to give you this truth.
  • 00:18:54
He wants to give you the kind of truth that will set you free.
  • 00:18:58
All you've got to do is ask Him.
  • 00:19:00
And you don't have to have it all
  • 00:19:01
figured out before you ask Him.
  • 00:19:03
You don't have to deal with all the verifying.
  • 00:19:05
You don't have to deal with all the questions.
  • 00:19:07
You don't have to deal with figuring
  • 00:19:08
out the claims, what they mean.
  • 00:19:10
You don't have to worry about the doubt.
  • 00:19:12
    Bring it all with you.
  • 00:19:14
He says, "Bring it all to Me.
  • 00:19:15
I am the way, I am the truth, and I am a life."
  • 00:19:18
And He wants to give you that truth
  • 00:19:20
so you can build a faith that last.
  • 00:19:25
    - That's exactly right.
  • 00:19:26
Jesus is the living truth and He's
  • 00:19:28
looking for a relationship with you.
  • 00:19:30
Here at Crossroads, we want to help you with that
  • 00:19:32
relationship, we want to help you along that journey.
  • 00:19:34
Two things we're doing, one, our
  • 00:19:36
World Changing Summit on November 3rd.
  • 00:19:38
And two, our Prayer Night on November 4th.
  • 00:19:40
We just came out of The Journey and
  • 00:19:42
    we challenged everyone to serve.
  • 00:19:43
And if you're interested in any of this stuff,
  • 00:19:45
World Change, Prayer Night, or signing up to volunteer,
  • 00:19:47
you can just go to online.crossroads.net.
  • 00:19:51
    Thanks so much.
  • 00:19:52
We'll see you next week on Crossroads.
  • 00:19:55
    - Loving our neighbors is core to who we are
  • 00:19:58
and who God calls us to be.
  • 00:20:00
We believe that love looks like
  • 00:20:02
running after those in need and serving them well.
  • 00:20:05
The harsh reality is that 1 in 7 of our neighbors faces hunger
  • 00:20:08
and almost one in three live below the poverty line.
  • 00:20:12
Through Thanksgiving Food Drive and Christmas Gift Drive,
  • 00:20:14
we can change what Thanksgiving and Christmas
  • 00:20:17
    look like for these families.
  • 00:20:20
Your generosity can make a tremendous impact.

Process, journal or discuss the themes of this article - here's a few questions to get the ball rolling...

Welcome to the Weekend Follow-Up. The questions below are for the weekend of Oct 30 & Oct 31 2021.

  1. What’s the craziest youtube/facebook/twitter comment you’ve ever seen?

  2. Do you tend to hold on to a need to be right, or a fear of being wrong? Why do you think that is your default response?

  3. Read Acts 17:11. Sometimes, finding the truth means being willing to ask ourselves hard questions. What’s something you currently believe that you think you need to question further?

  4. Read John 20:24-29. It’s not easy to build into the foundation of your faith. Where’s one area of doubt that you can ask Jesus to meet you in this week? Share how you could move in that doubt differently than you have before.

  5. Now close your time in prayer. Here’s an example: “Lord, thank you for giving us the Truth in the form of your Son Jesus. Thank you for the everlasting life that your Truth brings. We ask that you remove the scales from our eyes, that you open our minds so that we can grow closer to you every day. Reveal to us the lies that haunt our lives. We know you are the Truth. Amen.

More from the Weekend

Read John 1:14. At Crossroads we’re about the power of God who transforms lives. Everyday we’re getting outside ourselves trying to make a difference in the world. One way we do this is partnering with organizations who literally are changing the world everyday. If you want to jump in and start giving risk free, you can try the 90 day tithe test here.
