Innkeeper | A Promise of Peace Week 3 - Live Service
Are you the person who has a Clark Griswold light show every Christmas, or the person that might not generally be the biggest Christmas decorator?
How can you see yourself in the character of the innkeeper, a man who turned out to be a hero rather than a villain for finding a way to find space for Jesus?
Read Philippians 4:7. Greg shared a story about a moment he felt the undeniable peace of God, even in the midst of his daughter’s health crisis. In what areas of your life have you experienced (or are still waiting to experience) the same type of supernatural peace?
Read Psalm 33:22. What boxes in your life, what suffering or pain or all-consuming thoughts do you need to move aside to make room for Jesus in your life this week?
Now close your time in prayer. Here’s an example: “Lord, thank you for loving us enough to send Your son down to earth to save us. Thank you for shouldering our burdens. Give us the faith to let you in. We know you’re knocking at the door, please give us the courage to open it. We want to make room for you. Amen.”
Join us as Greg McElfresh, the Oakley Community Pastor, takes a look at the story of the innkeeper. We will evaluate the clutter in our own lives to see how we might actually prepare Him room in these weeks leading up to Christmas.
