Pray Bigger | Why Wild Dreams Die When Wild Prayers Stop
If money weren’t an issue, what would be your dream job?
What stood out to you most from the message?
What is the difference between a dream and a goal? Do you think they can overlap?
What is an audacious prayer you feel like God is putting on your heart right now? Something that would make you say, “I never in a million years thought _____ would happen.”
Which one do you identify with the most when praying, and why: “Don’t bother God,” “Don’t pray lofty prayers,” or “Caveat your prayers heavily”?
What keeps you from praying audacious prayers? (belief about God, feeling unworthy, losing hope, etc.)
Read John 14:13-14, John 15:7, and John 16:23-24. What could Jesus be saying to you in these verses? How can they give you hope to keep praying?
Describe a time you had to pray through all the red lights around you (AKA things that encourage you to quit praying). What was it like?
What’s one step you can take this week to pray a more audacious prayer?
Let’s end our time praying together. You can say something like;
“God, thank you for being a generous and loving, a God who desires for us to be bold in our prayers. Give us strength as we process what we believe about you, and courage to pray those audacious prayers. In the identity and character of Jesus we pray, amen.”
Some of us are praying too safe. Praying for comfort is nice sometimes, but we aren't just made to pray that we don't get a nail in our tire or that our pizza is still hot when we get home. We're made to pray in a way that brings Heaven to earth. Things so big only God can do them. This week, Kyle Ranson shows us how God doesn't just ask us to pray safe. He asks us to pray big.
