We have an X Factor that empowers our lives
Chuck Mingo explores The Book of Acts, the story of the first church community. What this group did changed the entire world. As it turns out, that “X-Factor” is available to us today as well.
Process, journal or discuss the themes of this article - here's a few questions to get the ball rolling...
Welcome to the Weekend-Follow Up! This is the group part of the Bible Challenge, so your questions are based on specific Bible passages from the weekend message. Each week, your group will discover what God might be saying to you, and how you can respond through a group discussion.
What’s one thing you’ve experienced recently that you’d consider exciting or unexpected?
What stood out to you most from the message?
When you think of the Holy Spirit, what images, perceptions or hesitations come to mind?
What’s something new you learned about the Holy Spirit in the message?
Where or how do you think you’ve seen or experienced the power of the Holy Spirit in your life?
How can the influence of the Holy Spirit change the way you live your life?
What might some barriers be to believing or experiencing the power of the Holy Spirit?
What does the calling of the Holy Spirit tell you about the purpose of your life?
Read Acts 1:1. What is one way you can be a witness of all Jesus did and taught this week?
Let’s end with prayer. You can say something like, “Jesus, thank you for the gift of your Spirit. Thank you for not leaving us alone on this earth without a guide. Always give us the ears to hear what the Spirit is telling us, and the courage to obey. We want to be witnesses of your love and your power. Amen.”
