The Truth About Church | Anchored Week 5
Over the last few months, we haven’t been able to gather the way we’re used to. What is one takeaway from this time that you have around being in community? Maybe it’s something you don’t want to take for granted, or maybe you’ve found some new creative ways to stay connected.
Read Ephesians 2:19-22. The Church is a group of people, not a building. Maybe this is the first time you’ve heard that. How does this change your perspective on the purpose of the church? (“Go to church” kind of loses its meaning, huh.)
Read 1 Corinthians 12:12. Brainstorm ways the Church could have an impact if it operated as one, unified team that moves.
In what ways have you personally experienced being on the team (where you’ve seen impact with community)? In what ways have you been sitting on the sidelines? Maybe you’re feeling a little nudge to take action on that. If so, share that with the group.
Jesus died so that the Church could flourish and represent him well. (Check out Ephesians 5:25-27). Take the last five minutes or so, and pray for the Church to live out its purpose, and your unique role in it. It might be as simple as, “Help me to see more, God.”
Over the last few weeks, you’ve gotten to experience some of the power that happens when people come together. Think of one person who could benefit from experiencing that too. Share that name with the group, then invite them to join you for the next series, The Adventurous Life.
Does church matter? What is it even for? In this episode, we talk about what church can actually mean to your life.
