Every team is different, but roles are clearly defined so you always know your “zone.” You might lead a small group, help with check-in, support infants and toddlers, run tech, guide activities, or support a child with specific needs. Every role matters, and we make a point to assign volunteers to roles that help their skills shine. Click here to find a role that suits you.
Don’t worry, you won’t be thrown in the deep end. You’ll get training, shadowing opportunities, and a team leader (plus team members) to turn to. Ask questions, jump in, and know that you’re supported. Kids don’t need perfect leaders - they need present, caring ones who will take the time to get to know them for who they are.
We’re committed to creating fun, welcoming, and safe spaces where kids with sensory or special needs can experience God in a way that feels good for them.
Here’s how we do it:
- Sites offer a Sensory Room: a calm, welcoming space for kids who just need a break.
- Volunteers partner with parents to understand each child’s needs. They may serve as a one-on-one buddy, guide sensory breaks, or help create a calm, supportive space.
If you’re interested in working with kids who have sensory or special needs, just let your team leader know when you come for training.
Our volunteers aren’t just teaching kids how to worship - they’re modeling it. When kids see their leaders singing, moving, and reflecting genuine excitement about God, they learn that worship is something they can do, too.
We engage visibly, model focus, use our voices wisely, and encourage variety in worship (singing, dancing, art, etc.) to show kids that moments of worship come in all shapes and sizes.
It’s okay to serve with your kids. Just be mindful that all your attention isn’t focused on your child. Also, we won’t put your kid in your small group. We just want the other kids - and yours - to feel comfortable.
