South Africa
Johannesburg / June

6/7/2019 - 6/16/2019

Beat isolation with a shovel. Show love with a toothbrush. Watch joy overflow from people who appear to have nothing, but give more than you can imagine. Join a team this June that’s linking up with our amazing partner, Build the Future. On a landfill in Kya Sand, they’ve created a preschool out of shipping containers that now serves as a lifeline for the surrounding informal shack settlement. Here, you may jump in as a gardener, painter, cook, classroom helper or soccer mate. In Motsoaledi, we join Build the Future’s community feeding program where you’ll pack and deliver nourishing meals. The work is real and powerful—both for you and those you serve. You’ll wrap up your trip with an overnight in a beautiful game lodge where an incredible safari and plenty of time to rest, awaits.

Build the Future

Build the Future aims to take as many kids off the street and enroll them in our preschools, so they can be safe, while learning and playing. They are striving to plant preschools in areas that are densely populated with local inhabitants, who are the poorest of the poor, but who’s children deserve an education and nourishment. They go where no-one else will, for the future of South Africa.
