Join your fellow Mason team this July that’s linking up with our amazing partner, Build the Future. On a landfill in Kya Sand, they’ve created a preschool out of shipping containers that now serves as a lifeline for the surrounding informal shack settlement. Here, you may jump in as a gardener, painter, cook, classroom helper or soccer mate. In Motsoaledi, we join Build the Future’s community feeding program where you’ll pack and deliver nourishing meals. The work is real and powerful—both for you and those you serve. You’ll wrap up your trip with an overnight in a beautiful game lodge where an incredible safari and plenty of time to rest, awaits.

There are 50 two bedroom thatched bungalows. Each Bungalow has a tea and coffee station, en suite bathroom with both bath and shower facilities and a veranda where guests can enjoy watching a glorious African sunset. Zebra, Giraffe, Wildebeest, Impala, and Springbok roam the grounds outside the rooms. Rooms overlook a beautiful lake with a rock wall dam and beautiful waterfall.
Expect a typical breakfast buffet of eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, toast, pastries, cereal, yogurt, and fruit plus coffee, tea, or juice. Lunches will be bagged lunches of PB&J sandwiches, fruit, and chips. Dinner will be a buffet with a salad bar, usually chicken, beef, or pork entrees with plenty of pasta, potatoes, and veggies.
Build the Future aims to take as many kids off the street and enroll them in our preschools, so they can be safe, while learning and playing. They are striving to plant preschools in areas that are densely populated with local inhabitants, who are the poorest of the poor, but who’s children deserve an education and nourishment. They go where no-one else will, for the future of South Africa.
