Kolkata / October / Men

10/12/19 - 10/22/19

Put your hands to work, and watch life-changing possibilities ignite with your own eyes. This men-only trip is a rehab project to turn a desolate factory into a healthy place of employment for survivors of sex trafficking. When you’re not physically rebuilding, you’ll have the opportunity to build into the boys in the aftercare home who need men to model integrity, trustworthiness and hope. They’ll be lots of campy fun, footballs in the air, singing and goofing around. This trip is the best of both worlds, and you’ll go home knowing you made a literal impact in the fight against trafficking—and return home with an entirely new outlook on life.

What is the travel like?

It takes over 24 hours to get there and we fly on a commercial airline. Listen to all of your favorite Spotify playlists twice, catch up on sleep, talk to your traveling companions, sleep some more, read, watch movies on your 21st century in-seat entertainment system, or just do nothing…which you probably haven’t done in a long time.

Kolkata (formerly Calcutta, during the British era) is the second largest city in India and the capital of West Bengal. While in Kolkata, the team will stay at a ‘western-style’ hotel in the heart of the city. The hotel will have all basic amenities, wi-fi, air conditioning, and a generous breakfast buffet. While traditional indian dishes are highlighted, familiar breakfast foods (think omelet station and cereal) are also available.

While hosting the retreat for the boys home, the team will head to the outskirts of town to a simple village resort. The rooms will be similar to the hotel in the city, and there will be plenty of space to run around, swim, and give these kids a weekend of fun.
