Nepal / July

7/7/19 - 7/17/19

Nothing says epic like the Himalayas, high mountain passes and alpine woodlands of Nepal. Even better, though, is the epic effort to bring children home who’ve been trafficked out of their villages and into the dark underbelly of India’s forced prostitution. On this trip, you’ll get to experience the beautiful Nepalese culture by seeing how our partners (Five14 and Apple of God’s Eye) are leading this amazing justice work. You'll bring relief and helping hands from this side of the world. The work on this trip is literally to bring the fun. You’ll have the sweet chance to make a retreat space for young survivors of sex trafficking, give the caregivers a much deserved break, and support freedom businesses that are coming against human trafficking in a powerful way! Be the change you want to see—there’s no better purpose.

Great for: Parents and teens (over age 16); Young Professionals; Retired Individuals; Working Men and Working Women; Teachers; College Students; People who love to have fun; Anyone who wants a glimpse of sweet redemption.

What is the travel like?

It takes over 24 hours to get there and we fly on a commercial airline. Listen to all of your favorite Spotify playlists twice, catch up on sleep, talk to your traveling companions, sleep some more, read, watch movies on your 21st century in-seat entertainment system, or just do nothing…which you probably haven’t done in a long time.

Five14 is a Nepali adventure touring company who believes in responsible travel and believes community partnerships can result in a better life for everyone. Five14's team of Nepalese and internationals love adventure and the people of Nepal. They think everyone should experience the beauty of Nepal and bring hope to the people, while they are there. Five14 does this by taking tourism and trekking routes off the beaten path and through places which have been hardest hit by exploitation, disaster, and poverty. Five14 adventurers take home the beauty of the Himalayas in their hearts but leave knowing their projects and relationships made a real difference.

Nepalese Home / Apple of God's Eyes

The Nepalese Home, in partnership with Apple of God's Eyes, is a Nepali organization that acts more like a huge family than like a charitable organization. More than 150 trafficking survivors and children at risk of trafficking reside together in homes led by second and third generation leaders, many whom themselves grew up in the homes. They have a school where the Apple kids can learn together with kids from the neighborhood and they provide educational scholarships in high risk, extremely impoverished rural communities to over 1,000 kids. Founded by Brazilians and run by Nepalis, Apple is the place to celebrate, to cry, to learn and to love!
