What is Pushpay?

Pushpay is an online and mobile giving solution that focuses on a fast, secure, and easy way to give to the church. Pushpay is a widely used software platform originally built for churches - it’s currently being used by 7,000 churches.

Is it trusted?

Yes. Credit card details are tokenized and are stored off your device on industrial-grade servers where this information is then encrypted. The security setup we have used is the same as many banks and is Level 1 PCI DSS compliant. For this reason, Pushpay is considered significantly more secure than many current offerings.

How will it impact my existing mobile giving? What changes will I see?

Recurring giving for folks that have a bank (ACH) account attached to their giving won’t see any changes.

Recurring giving folks with credit card will need to move their gifts to Pushpay for compliance reasons. They will receive an email for each recurring gift instructing them how to set up their gift.

One time gift - they’ll see a new giving experience ane will have to enter a confirmation code that will come in via text. Someone giving for the first time or adding an extra gift to existing recurring will need to enter in their CC/debit card information for the first time and will then be stored on their profile (lead with ACH if possible)

Is there a benefit to giving via Bank Account vs. Credit Card?

Yes! Credit cards cost us about 2% to 2.5% for each transaction, and that adds up to hundreds of dollars each month! Setting up a direct withdrawal from your bank account using ACH gives you the peace of mind that the vast majority of your gift is going directly to Crossroads.

Will I need to re-enter my credit card?

You’ll need to re-enter your credit card information into the new system. If you already give via credit card, you’ll receive an email with prompts to follow.

What credit cards are accepted?

Crossroads accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover credit cards.

Will my year-end giving statements come from Pushpay or Crossroads?

Giving statements will be provided by Crossroads.

What if I don’t have a phone to receive a confirmation text?

You can make one-time donations to Crossroads through Pushpay with a credit card or debit card as a guest giver by clicking on “Need help?” on the Verify Your Mobile Number page and then Give as Guest to avoid the account creation process. Please keep in mind that if you want to do any of the following, you’ll have to create an account with Pushpay:

  • Give via ACH (Bank Account)
  • Setup a recurring donation
  • Manage your account yourself 24/7
  • Securely store your payment method (so you don’t have to type it out each time)

What if I lose my phone?

If your phone is lost, even if you are logged into Pushpay, no transactions can be made without your passcode. You can also freeze your account by logging into Pushpay.com with your registered email and password and choosing the Freeze My Account option.

Can I modify or cancel my recurring donation at anytime?

Yes - you may log in any time to make changes or to pause or cancel a recurring gift. Pushpay offers more flexibility when scheduling your recurring gift - the options are:

  • Every Week
  • Every 2 Weeks
  • Every Month
  • 1st and 15th of the Month

Why don’t I see my spouses name on our giving statement or campaign commitment?

The IRS requires us to acknowledge donations from the individual who initiated it. We understand that you may have given the donation on behalf of both you and your spouse but it can and was only initiated by one person. To allow you to see the donations given on behalf of you and your spouse and/or your minor children, there’s a drop down to select those individuals. If you don’t see a drop down, please email giving@crossroads.net and inform them of who should be in your household.

My recurring gift from my banking account moved to Pushpay. Why do I have to enter my bank information in Pushpay to give a one time gift?

Your recurring gift from your banking account was set up “behind-the-scenes” through a migration. To give a one-time gift or set up a new recurring gift, you will need to enter your banking account information the first time you give to Crossroads through Pushpay. Once you’ve entered it the first time, you will not need to enter it again.

Why don’t I see all my gifts (Fidelity, foundation, Benevity, YourCause, etc.)?

Other gifts will be added to the giving page by October 31st. If you have specific questions, please email giving@crossroads.net and they can provide the information until those gifts are added.
