Too Good To Be True

The reality is that we are more broken than we think we are. But the good news is that God loves us more than we can imagine. He offers us grace that is too good to be true, yet it is.

Process, journal or discuss the themes of this article - here's a few questions to get the ball rolling...

Welcome to the Chaser–a few questions after the weekend service to start conversations. If this is your first time in a group, or your group has new members, take a few minutes and introduce yourself. Two truths and a lie is always a good place to start.

  1. Physical bumps and bruises can be a part of life. What’s the most physically painful experience you’ve had?

    Follow up questions:

Have you ever had a broken bone?
Do you have any sweet scars?

  2. Whoever had the best injury story, read Ephesians 2:1-5 out loud. (It’ll sound familiar. We read it in service.) Each group member, share which part of that scripture sticks out to you and why.

    Follow up questions:

“God was angry with us like he was with everyone else…But God loves us deeply.” What does that mean to you?
“So he gave us new life because of what Christ has done.” What is it that Jesus did?

  3. Do you think there is a difference between Jesus’ death and deaths of other religious leaders, or martyrs?

    Follow up questions:

If yes or no, what is it the difference and why?
Does the death of Jesus have any personal meaning to you?

  4. In the message we heard that grace can save and send you. What does grace mean to you?

    Follow up questions:

Have you ever experienced grace or a second chance?
Is it harder for you to receive grace or give grace? Why?

More from the Weekend

How can you practice grace this week? (Both giving and receiving) As a group, come up with a plan on how you can simply extend and receive a little more grace each day. Then, do it.
