God Has a Name for You - Message Only

This week Kyle Ranson shows us how to call out our labels and the false identities that limit us and instead lean into the names we are given by God, and who He says we are.

Process, journal or discuss the themes of this article - here's a few questions to get the ball rolling...

Welcome to the Weekend-Follow Up This is the group part of the Bible Challenge, so your questions are based on specific Bible passages from the weekend message. Each week, your group will discover what God might be saying to you, and how you can respond through a group discussion.

  1. If you could pick your own nickname, what would it be?

  2. What stood out to you most from this week’s message?

  3. What’s the name or set of names you’ve believed about yourself? How did that name come to be?

  4. In what ways has that name impacted you? Where have you not been able to fully step into what God might have for you?

  5. What is a name that God gives you opposite of the one you’ve been believing? Have the group help you pick one if you’re not sure.

  6. What makes it difficult to let go of the names you have from the world and accept the names God has for you?

  7. How might believing that God calls you by name, the same names He calls Jesus, change the way you see yourself?

  8. What’s one way you can live like the name God gives you this week?

  9. Let’s end with prayer. You can say something like, “Jesus, thank you for clothing us with yourself and living within us. Thank you for transforming us day after day into an image resembling you. Please create in us hearts that are open to you, and help us shed the worldly names that do not reflect who we really are.” Amen.”
