Getting Battle Ready - Message Only

This week Brian teaches that we know we are going to face some battles in 2023, and tells us how we can equip ourselves with the things needed to come out victorious.

Process, journal or discuss the themes of this article - here's a few questions to get the ball rolling...

Welcome to the Weekend-Follow Up This is the group part of the Bible Challenge, so your questions are based on specific Bible passages from the weekend message. Each week, your group will discover what God might be saying to you, and how you can respond through a group discussion.

  1. Where (or who or what) is your happy place?

  2. What stood out to you most from this week’s message?

  3. What do you believe about the devil? When you think about him, what image pops into your mind?

  4. In what areas of your life have you felt under attack? What circumstances or feelings or situations are keeping you pinned down?

  5. Read Ephesians 6:10-20. Have the group discuss why each piece of armor matters. Which piece stands out to you the most?

  6. How could ”putting on the armor” impact your life each day?

  7. How might relying on God’s strength and trusting in the tools He’s given you impact your area of struggle?

  8. What is one way you can put on God’s armor this week? How can the others in the group join you in the fight?

  9. Let’s end with prayer. You can say something like, “Jesus, thank you for fighting this battle ahead of us, and giving us the same tools you used. Give us the faith to believe in them and the strength to use them. Help us remember that regardless of the challenge or the struggle, you’re right there with us.” Amen.”
