Zoom How To's for Journey

Pick Your Devices

App Hack: You'll need to access Journey on the Crossroads app and be on Zoom at the same time. Having one device ready with the Crossroads app open (like your phone) and another logged in to Crossroads for your Zoom meeting (like your laptop) will help you stay in the moment with your group. If you don’t have two screens to use - no sweat! Just use what you have.

Hop on a Meeting

You don’t need to have a Zoom app, or even a Zoom account, to join in the fun. When you go to Crossroads.net and join your meeting, you may be asked to download the app (you can say no) or use the app if you already have it installed. Your choice.

Add Your Name

Zoom will ask you to enter your name as you join the meeting. If you already have a Zoom account, and you want to update your name and profile picture for your account, go to https://us02web.zoom.us/signin.

See Your Group

Have you ever wondered why you only see one person at a time? Zoom has an Active Speaker View and a Gallery View. When Zoom is in Active Speaker View it will only show the person talking. In Gallery View you can see everyone on the call. To change your view in the app on your laptop, look for the View icon and click. If you are using an iOS device, use the dots at the bottom of your screen to swipe to different views. You can move back and forth between both views.

What’s Missing?

Zoom super users, especially, this is for you. If you are looking for all the bells and whistles (like chat and screen sharing) you usually use on Zoom, you are right — they’re not here. We wanted to make this experience as easy and stress free as possible.
