Kids’ Club Creative

Job Summary: Part of the Central Services Kids’ Club Creative Team, develops content (print, video and web) for multiple audiences (3s through 5th grade), for a variety of experiences (weekends at sites, families at home, online, etc.) and leads volunteers also developing content.

Duties & Responsibilities:

■ Responsible for leading, developing and building volunteer teams that create content.

■ Recruit new volunteers while training and developing existing volunteers, maximizing retention and enhancing volunteers’ experiences.

■ Involved in all steps in the creative process, including but not limited to: Concept generation, Pre-production planning, operation of equipment at shoots, editing and post production.

■ Work collaboratively and welcome constructive criticism to improve self and products.

■ Intentionally growing in skill sets.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

■ Experience developing and leading volunteers; strong leadership skills.

■ Knowledge and skill in developing content for multiple age ranges of children (3s through 5th grade) that includes all areas of great story telling, production process and design sense (graphic, motion, color, etc.). The ability to communicate this insights while leading others is a must.This includes knowing current trends, influences and styles.

■ Ability to organize, multi-task, problem solve and adapt to rapidly shifting priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment by managing one’s own time and proactively identifying what needs to get done. Must be a self-initiator and have a teachable spirit.

■ Can think through how to repackage/reuse content across multiple platforms (web, print, etc.) to maximize impact and minimize effort/cost.

■ Creativity, see the big picture and attention to detail, meets deadlines, strong work ethic.

■ Experience with print and video with technical aspects of various processes.

■ Adobe Suite of Creative applications, 3D modeling and other necessary programs.

■ Strong verbal and written communication is required. Would be communicating with staff, volunteers and vendors.

■ Works well both independently and within a team.

Educational Requirements:

■ Associate’s degree in design or related field.

■ 4+ years of demonstrated work experience.

■ Must commit to expectations detailed in the “I Promise” document, including using the Bible as the ultimate standard of truth, practicing spiritual disciplines and pursuing personal purity.

■ Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.

Student Ministry/Kids’ Club Intern

Job Summary: Gain experience in ministry for the purpose of pursuing a calling to vocational ministry, not necessarily Crossroads. Internships run concurrently with school seasons/semesters (Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer) and generally last 13 weeks, working 20-40 hours per week, depending on work and intern’s availability. Internships are unpaid positions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work with the ministry team to execute the day to day and week to week responsibilities for the ministry team
  • Work to complete a project specific to intern’s skills, experiences and interests that also benefits the ministry team
  • Attend appropriate staff meetings and student ministry planning meetings

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Must have a desire and a calling to pursue vocational ministry
  • Must be a self-initiator and have a teachable spirit

  • Able to effectively communicate with staff, volunteers and if necessary, vendors. Strong verbal and written communication is required
  • Demonstrate flexibility, responsibility, dependability, and follow-through
  • Ability to see the big picture and simultaneously attend to details
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Work both independently and within a team

Special Requirements:

  • Passion for kids or students is a must

  • Must commit to expectations detailed in the “I Promise” document, including using the Bible as the ultimate standard of truth, practicing spiritual disciplines and pursuing personal purity
  • Must be willing to work most weekends (typically 1 Saturday or Sunday per weekend)
  • For Student Ministry: weeknight requirements vary per ministry area (e.g. Thursday nights for High School, special events, etc.)
  • Must have reliable transportation as will travel to various Crossroads sites
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs
  • Must be able to actively participate in ministry so ability to stand, sit, bend, lift and walk is required.
  • Must have a desire and a calling to pursue a job in a local church (most likely that won’t be Crossroads)
  • Must have 20-40 hours available each week for intern role

Childcare Worker

Job Description The Crossroads Childcare Team is responsible for caring for kids from birth through 5th grade, whose parents or guardians are either serving as a volunteer or attending a staff approved group or event on site. These are contracted positions (not an employee of Crossroads). Shifts are not guaranteed. This is not a full time job. Pay is $10/hr.

Site Needs Childcare positions are available at our Oakley, Mason, Florence, West Side and Oxford campus’s. Shifts vary by site.

Essential job functions:

  • Verify that room is ready to accept kids
  • Follow security procedures in checking kids in and out of childcare
  • Lead kids in variety of activities
  • Do what is necessary to provide and safe and fun environment
  • Clean up room and remove all trash at end of shift

Job Qualifications:

  • Experience working with kids age birth - 5th grade
  • Ability to read
  • Can lift minimum of 20 pounds
  • Able to walk, bend, crawl, kneel and carry kids
  • Submit to a criminal background check
  • Have a valid checking account
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Be 18 years old
  • Provide 3 references
