Join us as your Florence community experiences adventure, fun, and come home with a whole new story to tell. You’ll fly over the Honduras mountains and step into the full Nicaraguan experience. You’ll start the week climbing a volcano! Then you’ll work alongside Nicaraguans making significant improvements to their village life—whether digging out a trench for clean water or mixing concrete for chimneys. You’ll be exhausted and super sweaty. What more could you ask for? Mornings and evenings you’ll get the chance to process your experience, share communal meals, have coffee on the porch, or sing your heart out with a renewed sense of worship.
Due to partner requirements, all participants will be required to show proof of being fully vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine.
We will also be following all guidelines and requirements from the CDC, local authorities in Nicaragua, and any rules of vendors, venues and partners. If the guidelines change prior to the trip we will adjust the expectations.
I was blown away by both the accommodations and food during our trip. Climbing the volcano was a unique experience I’ve never had which was simultaneously exhausting and exhilarating.

Travel day. Fly to Nicaragua, with a stop in Miami or another stateside airport first.
The real adventure begins with a climb up Cerro Negro. Umm...what is that? It’s a volcano! And it’s quite an experience.
Day 3 - 7
Work alongside our partner Amigos for Christ in the community. We will build waterways, support local farmers in the field, and serve at the education academy in rural Nicaragua. It'll be exhausting, unforgettable and definitely meaningful to our partners.
That was an exhilarating week, now it’s time to head back home where you can rest and reflect on the work that made a lasting impact in the communities served.
Amigos for Christ complex
We will be staying at the Amigos for Christ complex, which is amazing. There are plenty of rooms, comfortable accommodations to settle into after a day of serving, and plenty of space for connecting with the team. Oh, and the rooftop view of the mountains on a clear day is breathtaking.
Amigos for Christ is a nonprofit organization that develops an intense and effective 7-year program that facilitates clean water getting into village homes, oral and physical health, community education, and economic development in rural Nicaraguan communities. We jump into work with Amigos every time we’re on Nicaraguan soil, because we trust and respect the way they’re revitalizing villages in simple but powerful ways.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
That may sound like a lot, but you should know this covers everything (flight, hotel, meals, activities, etc.), and this is a number you’re meant to tackle with your friends and family.
Of all of our trip participants, only 5% have had to contribute to their own trip.
WHO CAN GO?
Pretty much anyone
The only requirement is that you are 18 years old, or 10 years old with a parent or guardian. And groups of two or more, like families or small groups, can sign up together.
